Acting Ameer expresses concern as 23 Bangladeshi citizens have been picked up by Indian BSF from Feni border

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has expressed concern on 7th February, 2024 as 23 Bangladeshi citizens have been picked up by Indian BSF from Feni border.

“I am urging the government of Bangladesh to bring back all the Bangladeshi citizens who had been picked up by Indian BSF.

It is the duty and obligation of a government to ensure security of lives and properties of the citizens. But the government of Bangladesh has utterly failed to do so. In recent times, a BGB member was shot dead by the Indian BSF in the Jessore border. In the eastern frontier, Myanmar military forces have entered into the Bangladeshi territory and killed the Bangladeshi civilians. So far, 264 members of the Myanmar armed forces have come into Bangladesh. So, the securities of the Bangladeshi people, who live in the frontiers now, are at stake now. The border security and the citizen’s life came under threat due to submissive policy of the government. Such situation is not expected at all.

I am urging the Bangladeshi government to boost up their securities in the border areas and also to take effective measures for ensuring safety of lives and properties of Bangladeshi people in the Bangladesh-Myanmar border areas.
