Central Executive Committee urges the Muslim leaders and the democratic world to ensure peace in the Middle East

A meeting of the central executive committee of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was held with party’s Acting Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman in the chair. The meeting expressed deep concern over the ongoing brutal Israeli genocide against the Palestinians and adopted the following proposals:

“The central executive committee of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is urging the United Nations, Muslim world, United States and all global communities to make Israeli authorities compelled to initiate a ceasefire in Gaza.

Since 7th October of 2023, for last 5 months, Israeli authorities are conducting unprecedented brutalities and atrocities against the Gaza citizens including the children, women and old people. Israeli murderers are killing hundreds of innocent civilians every day. They have targeted the civilian infrastructures including Mosque, churches, hospital, clinics, schools and even graveyards. After the Gaza attacks, they have started brutalities in Rafah city now. Already 1.5 million Palestinians have taken shelters in Rafah and another one million have taken shelters across the Egyptian borders. These Palestinians are living inhuman lives due to scarcities of water, foods and medicines. Such deplorable and disastrous situation of the Palestinians is a shameful fact for the entire humanity.

International communities have been trying to initiate a ceasefire in Gaza. Although Hamas gave its consent, however the ceasefire is not being implemented due to stubborn attitude of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Under the circumstances, Jamaat’s central executive committee is urging the United Nations, Muslim world, United States and all global communities to take effective measures to ensure peace in the Middle East.”
