Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair strongly condemns the false, fabricated, and malicious remarks of NCP Secretary Akhtar Hossain

Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Head of its Central Publicity and Media Department Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair issued a statement today, 7 December expressing strong condemnation and protest against the false, fabricated, and politically motivated statement made by Member Secretary of the National Citizens Party (NCP), Akhtar Hossain, against Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami,

In the statement, Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair said that the allegations made by NCP Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain during an event held on 6 December at the Bisho Shahitto Kendra in Banglamotor, Dhaka, regarding Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami being involved in the “politics of weapons” or “military exercises,” are in no way consistent with reality. Jamaat-e-Islami is a responsible, peaceful, and disciplined political party, always committed to establishing the rule of law, peace, order, and democratic values in the country. Our history, ideology, and political conduct do not support such accusations in any form. His statement is completely false, baseless, fabricated, and politically motivated.

He further stated that, after the student-mass people’s uprising, Jamaat has been demonstrating utmost restraint and patience to maintain a calm and stable overall political environment in the country. The people of the country know that Jamaat has never believed in the politics of violence or illegal activities. Therefore, it is extremely unfortunate, unreasonable, and an expression of cheap politics for a responsible political leader like him to make such misleading statements.

Advocate Zubair said that they hope Akhtar Hossain will retract his baseless statement and demonstrate responsibility. Politically divisive, provocative, and false propaganda brings no benefit to the nation. The citizens of the country cannot be misled with false statements.

In the statement, he further urged the media, political circles, and the people of the country not to be misled by such lies and misinformation campaigns.
