Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former lawmaker Professor Mia Golam Porwar has issued the following statement on 12th April, 2024 expressing deep concern as two cargo airplanes of Israel have landed at Dhaka airport although there is no diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Israel.

For the first time, in the history of Bangladesh two cargo plans 747-400 BCF Planes, which can carry 108 metric tons of cargo, have flied from Ben Gurion International Airport of Israel’s Tel Aviv and landed at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. The plane, flight number N8806 have been registered and operated by National Air Cargo Incorporated USA. The plane landed at Dhaka airport on 7th April and left the airport on the same day. Another flight, being operated by the same company also came directly from Tel Aviv to Dhaka and left Dhaka airport on 12th April.

Daily Manab Zamin, one of the most circulated dailies of the country revealed that both of these two planes directly came from Tel Aviv to Dhaka. Israel, the main offenders of the ongoing Gaza massacre and it is not clear that why the cargo flights of this terror state have landed at Dhaka. For what purposes, they had arrived and what did they do during their staying in Dhaka airport, the countrymen are eager to know that.

There was no example earlier of such coming Israeli planes to Dhaka. Except emergency landing such a normal flight operation of an Israeli plane in Bangladesh is totally unprecedented. Because, there is no diplomatic ties between Bangladesh and Israel. Bangladesh has stated that it will not recognize Israel until there is an independent Palestinian state. The country which is out of our diplomatic ties, how does its flight can land here? It is a deep mystery and a serious threat to the national security.

The Prime Minister of Bangladesh have repeatedly voiced over the Israeli aggression and massacre in Gaza in various global platforms. But under her regime, Israeli flights have landed in Dhaka airport and the concerned authorities did not give any proper explanations after several days. Such silent role of the government made us shocked and worried.

We are urging the concerned authorities to issue a proper explanation about this incident immediately to relief the nation from the feeling of tension and uncertainty.
