-Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 8th April, 2024 extending greetings to the fellow countrymen on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

“Eid-ul-Fitr is ensuring as we are observing the last few days of the holy month of Ramadan. This year, we are going to experience Eid day in such a crucial time when people are leading miserable lives as in one side the government is reckless and desperate to stay in power by any means, while on the other we are witnessing unprecedented corruption, economic discrimination, tortures and repressions.

We are at the last end of the Holy month of Ramadan, in which the holy Quran was revealed. The joyful occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr is approaching before us following a month-long training of ingraining the fear of Allah amongst us and also to comply the rules and doctrines of Almighty Allah in all stages of our lives including our personal, social and national lives. Eid-ul-Fitr instills the spirit of brotherhood among all Muslims including the rich and the poor.

Let us be motivated with the spirit of Ramadan and the Eid-ul-Fitr and let us make a bridge among the community members based on love, affection, balance and unity. We should try to free our society from envy and jealousy. Let us join to help one another and also to share joy and happiness with our fellows.

The countrymen are suffering now massively due to price hike of the essentials and the deteriorating law and order situation. Amid such situation, I am extending greetings of Eid-ul-Fitr to the countrymen in a saddened mood.

The country is going through severe heatwaves. May Allah bless and protect us from all dangers and calamities.

I am personally and on behalf of my beloved organization Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, wishing peace, prosperity, good health and secured lives of my fellow citizens. Besides, I am extending the greetings of holy Eid-ul-Fitr to the countrymen once again.
