A meeting of the central executive committee of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was held with party’s Acting Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman in the chair. Central executive committee members attended the meeting. The meeting adopted the following proposals demanding immediate release of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.

Jamaat-e-Islami’s central executive committee has been observing with deep concern that the fascist government has kept thousands of Jamaat leaders and activists for last 15 years in connection with false and politically motivated cases. They want to destroy the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami by keeping its leaders behind the bar. The government has chosen the path of conspiracy as they failed to tackle Jamaat-e-Islami politically. As a part of the same conspiracy, the government has arrested Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman on 12th December of 2022. Following the detention, politically motivated cases were filed against him. Subsequently, he was produced for police remand for several times. Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman is a philanthropist, with a great soul. He is religious and peace-loving man. He is a man of clean image. So, lodging of false case against him is really painful.

Central executive committee urges the government to stop further aggression and to release all detained political leaders, activists and religious scholars including Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.
