Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum has issued a statement on 8th January, 2024 in which he stated that the people did not cast votes in 7th January’s election and thus they took position against the fascist government. Therefore, this government has no moral right to stay in office. On behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, I am declaring mass contact and leaflet distribution program on 9th and 10th January demanding immediate cancellation of the recently held farcical election and simultaneously for holding another election under caretaker government. I am urging the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and the countrymen to make the declared programs successful.
