Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum said in a statement issued on 28th December, 2023 that, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has conducted mass contact and leaflet distribution programs in two phases firstly on 21st, 22nd, 23rd December and similarly on 26th, 27th and 28th of December in second phases urging the people to boycott the farcical election and also to remain refrained from casting votes.

He further said that, the countrymen have been continuing systematic movement rejecting the election schedule which has been declared by the subservient election commission. The government is mulling to hold another election keeping the opposition parties out of the electoral process in a bid to detach the country from the democratic world. The people will not accept such election. On behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, I am urging the people and party leaders and activists to continue mass contact and leaflet distribution program on 29th and 30th December. I am calling upon to make the declared programs successful and also to take part in the ongoing movement to ensure the stepdown of the fascist government.
