Hamidur Rahman Azad protests the false information telecasted in Ekattor and Ekushey TV

-Hamidur Rahman Azad

Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former MP Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 29th October 2023 protesting and condemning the false information telecasted in the news of Ekattor TV and Ekushey TV claiming that 21 journalists have become injured in the attacks of the BNP-Jamaat activists.

“Ekattor TV and Ekushey TV have telecasted news in which they claimed that during the grand rally of 28th October in Motijheel-Polton area, 21 journalists have become injured by the attacks of the BNP-Jamaat activists. Such information is totally baseless, false, concocted and politically motivated. Jamaat leaders and activists had no minimum nexus with the incident of attacking the vehicle of Ekushe TV, journalist, camera person or any other press media staff.

We want to assert that journalists are the conscience of the nation. They uphold the truth before the nation. Jamaat always try to cooperate the journalist while organizing an event. So, the allegation of attacking the journalists by Jamaat leaders and activists are completely worthless.

I am urging the authorities of Ekattor TV and Ekushey TV to be refrained from telecasting such false and baseless news against Jamaat-e-Islami and expecting that they will telecast our protest statement and minimize the mass confusion.”
