Central Executive Committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and party’s Publicity and Media Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Matiur Rahman Akanda has issued the following statement on 27th June 2023 protesting and gainsaying the false information in a news titled ‘আল কায়েদার কৌশলে জঙ্গি তৈরির ছক কষে শারক্বীয়া’ (Sharkia is designing to create militants likely as Al Queda) where it claimed that the investigating authority has found a nexus between Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatrashibir and the newly formed militant organization Jamatul Ansar Fil Hindal 'Sharkia.

“Whatever is stated about Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir is totally false, baseless and politically motivated. We are severely protesting the news. We want to clarify that Daily Janakantha has been committing propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami for years and the report published on 27th June is the continuation of such propaganda. We want assert further that Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir are doing politics in a democratic way. So, no question can be emanated to have any connection between Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatrashibir and the newly formed militant organization Jamatul Ansar Fil Hindal 'Sharkia. It is absolutely absurd to say that Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman had a clear idea about the activities of Jamatul Ansar Fil Hindal 'Sharkia or his financing in favor of this organization.

I am urging the authorities of Daily Janakantha to be refrained from publishing such baseless, false and politically motivated reports against Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatrashibir. We are expecting that they would publish this statement properly to lessen the mass confusion.
