On 5th May at around 9 pm, when the villagers of Pashchim Dekra village under Alkora union of Chauddagram Upazila were about to sleep, at that time, some 255-30 miscreants reportedly Abdur Rahman and his cadres under the backing of local ruling party MP Mujibul Haq carried a barbarous attack on the house of Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Dr.

Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher and vandalized the houses severely. They also vandalized the house of Dr. Taher’s cousin, Foyez Ahmed’s house, daily laborer Shah Alam’s house, and some other houses as well. The hooligans also caused massive damage to the precious wealth and properties. This terrorist attack has been carried out without any reason or provocation. The general people became shocked and panicked watching the brutality of these goons.

Dr. Taher condemns:

Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher severely condemned the recent terrorist attack on his house.

He stated that Comilla district Awami League’s General Secretary and local MP Mujibul Haq has established a reign of terror in Chauddagram Upazila for the last 20 years. As a part of that terrorism, they attacked my native house on the 5th of May night and vandalized the house and properties severely. During the misdeeds, some neighbors’ houses also came under their attack. I have no words to condemn such mayhem.

He further said this terrorist attack is totally contradictory to political mannerism, democratic spirit, and minimum courtesy. Whoever has made these terror acts, the authorities should take stern action against them in a bid to prove that they believe in the rule of law.
