Acting Ameer extends greetings to the countrymen on the occasion of Eid-u;-Fitr

-Professor Mujibur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 20th April 2023 extending greetings to the countrymen on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

The month of Ramadan, in which the Holy Quran has been revealed, is bidding farewell to us. Eid-ul-Fitr is approaching following a month-long training of exercising Almighty Allah’s directives in our personal, social, and national lives and also about becoming motivated with the spirit of Taqwa (fear of Allah). Following the month of Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr comes to the lives of the people with the sermon of peace and happiness. The Eid-ul-Fitr builds sound brotherhood among all sections of society including the solvent and the poor communities.

Because of this holy occasion, we become motivated to build a society free from hatred and jealousy and also to come forward to serve the poor, neglected, and oppressed people. We also become encouraged to share our feelings with one another.

We are going to experience this occasion in such a period when it becomes extremely difficult for low-income people to lead their lives due to excessive price hikes of the essentials. The law and order situation has deteriorated alarmingly. People are being killed in broad daylight. Under such an atmosphere, I am extending greetings of Eid-ul-Fitr to the countrymen in a saddened mood.

The countrymen are experiencing severe heat waves for the last couple of days. I am praying to Allah for saving us from potential dangers. May Allah bless our fellow countrymen.

I, personally and on behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, wish the people peace, happiness, good health, and safety. Besides, I am extending my sincere greetings to all the countrymen on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.
