Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum has issued the following statement on 17th May, 2022 demanding the immediate release of the party’s central executive committee member Mobarak Hossain.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s central executive committee member Mobarak Hossain was on bail in a political case, which has been filed against him. During the last hearing, due to an unavoidable reason, he could not appear before the court. The court resultantly issued a warrant against him. Showing respect towards the law and the judicial process, he appeared before the court today and filed a bail plea. He expected that the court would grant him bail considering the humanitarian ground. But the court denied his plea and sent him to jail. We are deeply shocked as his bail was denied despite his appearance before the court.

We are urging the concerned authorities to release him immediately and unconditionally.
