Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer, world-renowned preacher of the Quran and former MP Maulana Delawar Hossain Sayedee has been kept behind the bar for the last 12 years. Assistant Secretary General ATM Azharul Islam is imprisoned for 11 years and former MP Principal Maulana Abdul Khaleq Mondol has been experiencing imprisonment for almost 7 years. Besides, Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Maulana ANM Shamsul Islam, Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar, and Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan are also imprisoned for long days.

The law enforcers detained them from their houses. But still, their families have no idea about their whereabouts. These families have been passing days amid tensions and worries for the last 6 years. We are urging the concerned authorities to bring them back before Eid so that they can celebrate this holy occasion along with their families.

Finally, I am calling upon the concerned authorities to immediately release all party leaders and activists including Allama Delawar Hossain Sayedee, ATM Azharul Islam, Maulana Abdul Khaleq Mondol, Maulana ANM Shamsul Islam, Professor Mia Golam Porwar, and Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan and allow them to observe the occasions of Eid-ul Fitr with the families and relatives.
