Matiur Rahman Akanda rejects the baseless news of Daily Janakantha against Jamaat-e-Islami

Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaate-Islami and party’s central executive committee member Matiur Rahman Akanda has issued the following statement on 15 September, 2021 protesting and gainsaying the false propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami which has been stated in a news of Daily Janakantha titled ‘প্রোপাগান্ডা স্কোয়াড তৈরি করে গুজব ছড়াচ্ছে বিএনপি-জামায়াত‘ (BNP-Jamaat is spreading rumors by creating propaganda squad).

The information which is stated in the news of Daily Janakantha titled ‘প্রোপাগান্ডা স্কোয়াড তৈরি করে গুজব ছড়াচ্ছে বিএনপি-জামায়াত‘ (BNP-Jamaat is spreading rumors by creating propaganda squad) against Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatrashibir, is totally false. The report claimed that around 50 propaganda squads have been working from home and abroad in favor of BNP and Jamaat. These squads had been manufactured with the sponsorship of British and USA wing of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami. Such claim is just baseless. All these are fictitious information, concocted by the concerned reporter. I want to assert that Jamaat-e-Islami has not created such propaganda squad neither in home nor abroad. Jamaat does not suffer from such inferiority complex. We are condemning this false and fictitious report.

We have been observing with great concern that several national dailies are continuously publishing one after one false and baseless reports against Jamaat-e-Islami in order to tarnish the good image of this organization. We firmly believe that, their such ill-efforts will never be succeeded. Jamaat-e-Islami conducts its organizational activities through systematic and democratic means. Outside these formal activities, there is no activities or initiatives from Jamaat-e-Islami.

I am urging the authorities of Daily Janakantha to be refrained from publishing such false, baseless and fictitious report against Jamaat-e-Islami in future.
