Secretary General urges not to create controversies about the national leaders and reverend personalities

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former member of the Parliament Professor Mia Golam Porwar has issued the following statement on 31 August 2021 urging the everybody not to create confusion and controversies about the veteran and the distinguished personalities of the nation.

We have been observing with great concern that for last couple of days, some unnecessary controversies have been created about the famous and reverend national figures. Indecent and unhealthy words are being used against them. People respects all these personalities for the specific contribution for the nation. As such, the recently created controversies have shocked the countrymen. Specially, the revered individuals who had played pivotal role for the liberation war, restoring democracy, defending independence and sovereignty and also to facilitate prosperity and development, instead of appreciation, they are being insulted and ridiculed. A chaotic situation has been created in the country due to unhealthy use of vulgar and indecent words against these respected figures. It is totally unexpected and unacceptable.

We should pay due respect to all those reverend personalities who had made remarkable contribution for the liberation war, restoring democracy, defending independence and sovereignty and also to facilitate prosperity and development of the country. We are also urging all concerned authorities not to create any such controversy about these noble figures.
