5 including 2 children dead in Sylhet road accident; Jamaat Ameer condoles

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following message of condolence on 2nd May, 2021 as five persons of a same family, including two children, were killed as a truck hit a CNG-run autorickshaw on Sylhet-Tamabil highway this morning.

This morning at around 6 am, five persons of a same family, including two children, were killed as a truck hit a CNG-run autorickshaw on Sylhet-Tamabil highway. The accident happened at the highway's Ferighat area when a CNG-run autorickshaw was thrashed by a truck which was coming at high speed. 4 persons had been killed on the spot while another one died on the way to the nearby hospital. I am expressing deep shock at the death of these 5 persons and praying for the salvation of their departed souls. I am extending sympathy to the injured and the victim families.

I am urging the concerned authorities to conduct proper investigation into the accident in order to take stern legal measures against the involved personnel. I am also calling upon the authorities to pay due compensation to the victim families.
