Central executive committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and party’s central publicity Secretary Matiur Rahman Akanda has issued the following statement on 27 April 2021 protesting and gainsaying the intentional propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami in a news titled “বঙ্গবন্ধুর খুনি মেজর ডালিমের আত্মীয় মামুনুল” (Mamunul is the relative of Major Dalim, a killer of Bangabandhu) published in Daily Amader Shomoy and various other online news portal on 26 April.

The information which is stated in a news titled “বঙ্গবন্ধুর খুনি মেজর ডালিমের আত্মীয় মামুনুল” (Mamunul is the relative of Major Dalim, a killer of Bangabandhu) published in Daily Amader Shomoy and various other online news portal is completely false, concocted and fictitious. The news claimed, in collaboration and communication with two top Jamaat leaders, Maulana Mamunul Haq has hatched plan to dethrone the government by utilizing the Madrasa students. It is totally false statement. The report failed to mention the name of that so called two top Jamaat leaders. We want to know their names. We want to assert that, Maulana Mamun had no communication with any Jamaat leaders of any level. Such claim is nothing but a fictitious story of the concerned reporter.

We have been observing that it has become a bad habit of some reporters to implicate Jamaat-e-Islami with a talked about incident. I am urging the concerned authorities to be refrained from publishing such false, manipulated and confusing report against Jamaat-e-Islami in future.
