Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former member of the Parliament Professor Mia Golam Porwar has issued the following statement on 27 March 2021 extending moral support to Hefazat-e-Islam called general strike on 28 March, Sunday.

Hefazat-e-Islam has called nationwide general strike on 28 March, Sunday protesting against the joint attack of the Police forces and Awami goons on the Muslim devotees in National Mosque Baitul Mukarram, Hathazari of Chittagong and elsewhere in the country on 26 March which left 4 people killed in Hathazari and 4 others in Brahmanbaria. On behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, we are extending our moral support to this strike. We are urging the fellow countrymen to observe the declared strike peacefully.
