Writ petition filed in Indian court against holy Quran; Jamaat Ameer condemns; urges to withdraw immediately

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on March 14, 2021 urging to withdraw the writ petition which has been filed in the Indian High Court seeking the cancellation of 26 verses of the holy Quran.

The holy Quran is the last divine book which has been revealed by Almighty Allah for the humanity. It is complete source of guidance and free from errors. Almighty Allah declared the Quran in such a way. For last one thousand and 5 hundred years, the holy Quran, with all its letters, symbols and alphabets have been preserved in its original form. As such, the statement of the writ petitioner about holy Quran is completely foul, intolerable and derogatory. The petitioner did not make initiative against the Quran only. He also insulted and humiliated 3 of the 4 caliphs, who were pioneers and ruled the Islamic Khelafat after the death of the holy Prophet (peace be upon Him). They received the good news of obtaining Jannah even while they had been alive. They were been respected and regarded by all. The petitioner insulted 3 of these great 4 caliphs. His entire attempt is notorious and we vehemently condemn such initiative. His writ should never be accepted.

We want to see that the petitioner would realize his mistakes and withdraw the writ petition immediately. World’s Muslim communities also expect that the government of India will take due steps in this regard.
