Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar expressed deep sorrow in a condolence message issued on 3 August at the passing of eminent nuclear scientist, researcher, author, and educationist Professor Emeritus Dr. M. Shamsher Ali.

In the issued statement, he said: “We express our profound grief at the demise of eminent nuclear scientist, researcher, author, and academic Professor Emeritus Dr. M. Shamsher Ali. His death is an irreparable loss to the fields of science, education, and research in the country.”

He further said, “Dr. M. Shamsher Ali was not only a scientist but also a beacon of light who tirelessly engaged in theoretical physics and the philosophy of science. His numerous research papers and books, both at home and abroad, have enlightened readers and scholars. He was a pioneer in bringing science closer to the general public. In his personal life, he adhered to Islamic principles.”

He added, “As an educator, the inspiration and illumination he instilled in the minds of his students, will remain a lasting source of motivation for future generations. We pray for the forgiveness of his soul and extend our heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family, colleagues, and well-wishers.”
