Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former member of the Parliament Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar has issued the following statement on 5th December, 2016 expressing deep concern as around 5 hundred houses and shops gutted due to massive blaze in Korail slums of Mohakhali of the capital.

“Usually the severe poor and impoverished people live in the slums. They live very deplorably as they are deprived even from the minimum worldly facilities. The slums of the capital are being gutted often. Subsequently probe committees are formed. But unfortunately no investigation reports are exposed and made public.

In this backdrop, I am demanding proper and impartial investigation into the incidents. I am also voicing to make probe report public and to bring the responsible criminals to the justice. Besides, we call upon the concerned authorities to undertake proper motivational measures for the slum dwellers to stop the recurrence of such accident. I am also urging to ensure due medical treatment and compensation for the victims and also to rehabilitate the affected peoples.”
