Professor Mujib condemns police\'s merciless attack on Mymensing University agitators

Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 28th November, 2016 condemning police's brutal attack and indiscriminate baton charge upon the protesters Phulbaria Degree College of Mymensing who were peacefully demonstrating demanding nationalisation of the institution that left Assistant Professor of the College's Botany Department Abul Kalam Azad and pedestrian Sofor Ali killed and wounded hundred others on 27th November.

We have no word to condemn police's brutal attack and indiscriminate baton charge upon the protesters Phulbaria Degree College of Mymensing who were peacefully demonstrating demanding nationalisation of the institution which left Assistant Professor of the College's Botany Department Abul Kalam Azad and pedestrian Sofor Ali killed and wounded hundred others on 27th November.

We are deeply shocked at the inhuman and barbaric approches of the police force. We are urging the concerned authority to conduct a judicial investigation into the incident and to bring the real offenders to the book.

I am praying for the salvation of the departed soul of the Assistant Professor of the Phulbaria Degree College's Botany Department Abul Kalam Azad and pedestrian Sofor Ali. Extending deep sympathy to their mournful families, I am praying for them so they can overcome this shock. I am demanding proper treatment of the wounded people and seeking their quick recovery.
