Professor Mujib thanks the countrymen for observing Jamaat declared peaceful demonstration nationwide

Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 23rd November, 2016 thanking the countrymen cordially for making today’s Jamaat declared program successful.

“The government of Myanmar has forced scores of Muslims out of the country by carrying out inhuman torture, oppression and genocide against them. It is the moral obligation of the world community to play pro-active role to bring an end to the ongoing genocide and mass killings against the Muslims of Myanmar.

Responding to the call of Jamaat-e-Islami, the countrymen have overwhelmingly observed peaceful demonstration across the country including Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Sylhet, Barisal, Rangpur, Comilla and Gazipur and showed down their clear protest against the ongoing genocide upon the Muslims in Myanmar. The government of Myanmar is plotting conspiracy to eliminate the Muslim population by carrying out mass killings against them. The peace loving people around the world have the responsibility to resist such brutal conspiracy of the Myanmar government.

Already a neighboring country has opened their border to refuge the Myanmar’s oppressed Muslims considering their humanitarian crisis. Bangladesh government also should open the border to provide shelter to the impoverished and suppressed Muslim victims of Myanmar.

In this backdrop, I am urging all the international organizations and human rights watchdogs including United Nations and OIC to undertake effective steps to stop the preplanned genocide against Muslims in Myanmar and their quick rehabilitation. In addition, I am calling for an international investigation under the supervision of the UN into these gruesome genocide.”
