Professor Mujib lambasts Bangla Tribune and Daily Jugantor for their ill propaganda against Jamaat Ameer

Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 21st November, 2016 protesting a manipulated and fabricated English letter of Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Maqbul Ahmad published in the online news portal Bangla Tribune on 18th November and at the first page of Daily Jugantor on 19th November.

“Jamaat Ameer Maqbul Ahmad has no nexus with the English letter, written by so called duty officer of the then Chittagong Radio station under Radio Pakistan transmitted on 10th August, 1971.

The signature which is demonstrated in the English letter, published in Bangla Tribune and Daily Jugantor, does not belong to Maqbul Ahmad in anyway. At that time, the head of Jamaat’s sub-divisional unit was not termed as Ameer. But in the aforesaid letter, Maqbul Ahmad has been referred as the Ameer of Feni sub-division. This fact clearly substantiated that he had not written this letter. A vested quarter has fabricated this letter and published it on the name of Maqbul Ahmad in order to damage his image and reputation. But the general masses would not be confused and perplexed with such a forgery based ill effort.

In this backdrop, I am urging the authorities of online news portal Bangla Tribune and Daily Jugantor to be refrained from carrying ill effort to tarnish the image of Maqbul Ahmad by making such forgery based ill propaganda.”
