Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Secretary General and former Member of Parliament, Professor Mia Golam Porwar, has expressed deep condolence over the tragic death of a youth named Abul Kalam, who was killed in a metro rail bearing pad accident, took place in the Farmgate area of the capital. He issued a statement on October 27 expressing his sorrow.
In the condolence statement, he said, “On the afternoon of October 26, a young man named Abul Kalam tragically lost his life (Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un) when a bearing pad of the metro rail became loose and fell down in the Farmgate area of Dhaka. I express my profound grief over this heartbreaking death. Two others were also injured in the accident.
I pray to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased, Abul Kalam, a place in Jannatul Ferdous, to bless the injured with a speedy recovery, and to grant patience and strength to the bereaved family and relatives in this time of deep sorrow.
I call upon the concerned authorities to identify the real cause of this accident, take appropriate action against those responsible, and provide adequate compensation to the victim’s family.”
