-Professor Mia Golam Porwar

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former Member of Parliament, Professor Mia Golam Porwar, in a statement issued on 5 September, called upon the people of the country to engage in wide-ranging discussions on the sacred life and character of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) throughout the year.

In the statement, he said: “Allah the Almighty sent the greatest Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for the peace, welfare, and salvation of all mankind. He is Rahmatullil-‘Alamin (mercy for the entire universe). The ideals shown by Him are the only path to establish peace in today’s restless world and the guarantee for the salvation and welfare of humanity.”

He further said: “The Almighty Allah revealed the last divine book, the Holy Qur’an, to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The practical embodiment of the Holy Qur’an is the life of the Prophet (PBUH). He was the greatest teacher and guide of humanity.”

He said: “In every sphere—personal, familial, social, political, and economic—the welfare of mankind is impossible without following His ideals. Partial adherence to the Prophet (PBUH) cannot bring Allah’s pleasure, and without attaining Allah’s pleasure, no one will be able to enter Paradise.”

“Therefore, it is an obligatory duty for every Muslim to deeply study the lives and deeds of the Prophet (PBUH), to present it before people with logical reasoning and wisdom, and practice it in real life. Such discussions must not be confined to any particular day or month but should continue throughout the year.”

Finally, calling upon the people of the country, he said: “Let us all study the life and ideals of the Prophet (PBUH), discuss them, and strive to implement them in our daily lives in order to attain the pleasure of Allah.”
