Secretary General strongly condemns and protests against Israel’s plan to occupy Gaza City

-Professor Mia Golam Porwar

Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former Member of parliament Professor Mia Golam Porwar issued a statement on 18 August strongly condemning and protesting Israel’s plan to occupy Gaza City.

In the statement, he said: “I strongly condemn and protest the heinous plan to occupy Palestine’s Gaza City. The occupying force members of Israel are advancing with a massive plan to seize Gaza. Already, the Israeli army has carried out an indiscriminate bombing attack on Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza City, killing seven innocent people. According to the latest statistics, 61,827 Palestinians have so far been martyred and 55,275 seriously injured by Israeli aggression.

He further said, the occupying Israelis have destroyed homes, mosques, madrasas, churches, educational institutions and even hospitals in Gaza. Everything in Gaza has today turned into nothing but debris. This once-prosperous city now stands as a witness to the most brutal destruction in human history. In fact, Israel is carrying out a deliberate policy of ethnic cleansing in Palestine, which is a disgraceful chapter, unprecedented in civilized history.

He said, Israel has recently openly declared its plan to occupy Gaza and, towards that goal, has devised a horrific scheme to forcibly displace nearly one million Palestinians from Gaza. This blueprint for the occupation of Gaza is a naked manifestation of Israeli aggression, which is a complete violation of international law, human rights, and justice. Such violent occupation by Israel is not only a threat to Palestine but also a grave danger to global peace, stability, and humanity.

I make a fervent call upon the United Nations, peace-loving Nations, and all international organizations to compel the occupying Israel to immediately halt this destructive plan of occupying Gaza City and forcibly displacing the Palestinian people.”
