Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman issued a statement on July 31, praying for the swift recovery of the party’s Ameer, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.
In the statement, he said: "The Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, fell ill on Wednesday, July 30, and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital, Dhaka. Amid the current state of the country, he has been playing a significant role on both national and international fronts. At this crucial time, his contributions are essential for the overall well-being of the nation and its people."
He further stated: "We earnestly call upon all citizens of the country, all levels of organizational manpower, and well-wishers and supporters residing both at home and abroad to sincerely pray to the Almighty Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, for the swift and complete recovery of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman. May Allah grant him the blessing of good health and enable him to continue contributing to the welfare of the country and the nation. Ameen."
