Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar issued a statement on July 16, announcing a peaceful protest program in all districts and cities of the country on July 17 in protest against the attack, arson and anarchy by the fascist and banned Chhatra League goons on the NCP leaders in Gopalganj.
In the statement, he said that on July 16 (Wednesday), the terrorists of the banned Chhatra League, who are allies of the fallen dictatorship, carried out a brutal attack on the NCP's previously announced 'March to Gopalganj' program in Gopalganj district. They attacked the NCP leaders' vehicle with the intention of killing them and also attacked the SP's office where they were staying. A large number of NCP leaders and activists and the general public were injured in the attack by the terrorists. The terrorists caused extensive damage by setting fire. In protest against the terrorism, anarchy, and arson they have created, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has announced a peaceful protest program in all districts and cities of the country on July 17 (Thursday).
I call upon all levels of the organization and the countrymen to observe this program with the aim of taking legal action against the attackers and forming a united resistance against fascism.
