Secretary General calls to Maintain law and order and stability in the country

-Professor Mia Golam Porwar

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar, issued a statement on February 7, urging to maintain law and order as well as stability in the country.

In his statement, he said, "For the past three days, various unexpected incidents have been occurring in different parts of Bangladesh, which are largely unacceptable from a perspective of conscience and responsibility. No responsible citizen can be involved in such activities in any way."

He further stated that taking the law into one's own hands is not beneficial for anyone. He emphasized the need to bring those responsible for killings, enforced disappearances, looting, and corruption over the past 15 years—particularly those involved in the massacre of 2024—to justice and ensure their punishment without delay.

He expressed hope that the country’s law enforcement agencies would stand by the people and play a responsible role in safeguarding the lives, property, dignity, and overall law and order of the nation. He also urged Jamaat-e-Islami members to remain vigilant so that no malicious force could disrupt the country’s stability.

In light of the current situation, Jamaat-e-Islami made an urgent appeal to the nation to help maintain law and order. Additionally, the party called upon the interim government to recover embezzled and laundered funds for the state treasury, ensure the safety of innocent people and their property, and bring the perpetrators of mass killings to justice as soon as possible.
