Professor Mujibur Rahman expresses deep concern over the incident of burning the Quran in Rajshahi University halls

Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman issued the following statement on January 13 expressing deep concern over the incident of burning the Quran in the dark of night by marking BJP logo on the walls of 4 halls at Rajshahi University,

“I express deep concern over the incident of burning the Quran in 4 halls of Rajshahi University. We believe that the incident of burning the Holy Quran in the dark in Rajshahi University is part of the deep conspiracy, hatched by the Islamophobic circles in order to create communal conflict and violence in the country. I urge the students of the country, especially the religious community of Rajshahi, to be vigilant, aware and cautious about this conspiracy. "I urge the government and the Rajshahi University authorities to take necessary steps as soon as possible to prevent any Islamophobic group from exploiting the incident for political gain.

I hope the government will conduct a fair and impartial investigation into this incident, identify the people involved in the incident, and take strict legal action against them."
