Secretary General protests the intentional propaganda of India's Republic TV

terms the campaign as an interference to Bangladesh's sovereignty

A report has been published in the first page of Daily Naya Diganta that mentioned a propaganda of an Indian TV Channel namely 'Republic TV which instigated to include Chittagong, the port city of Bangladesh within the territory of India. Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar has issued a statement on 14th November 2024 strongly condemning and protesting such anti-Bangladesh propaganda published of the Indian media.

In the statement, he said, "The presenter of the Indian YouTube channel namely 'Republic TV' has said that, "Chittagram was left out of India's hands in 1947. He further instigated to make Chittagong a part of India. The presenter said that it is not possible for the United States or any superpower in the world to occupy the Bay of Bengal if Chittagong is strategically being included as a part of India."

I strongly condemn and protest the speech of the presenter of the Indian YouTube channel "Republic TV". I want to add further say that such provocative speech by Indians is a blatant interference on the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh.

The presenter also commented that Hindus are being killed in Bangladesh. The army is entering the houses of the Hindus of Chittagong. This statement of the presenter is completely false, untrue and intentional. I appeal to the Indian YouTube channel 'Republic TV' to stop such false propaganda. At the same time, I call on the Bangladesh government to protest against this kind of propaganda against the Indians and also to take necessary steps in this regard.
