Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar issued a statement on September 22 condemning and protesting Indian Home Minister Amit Shah's remarks in a rally organized in Sahebganj district of Jharkhand where he claimed that "BJP government will straighten Bangladeshi infiltrators by hanging their legs upwards"
In the statement, he said, "India's Home Minister Amit Shah's statement as quoted in various media was as such that 'infiltrating Bangladeshis will be straightened by hanging their legs upwards'- is against international law and human rights. I condemn and protest his statement. His statements do not indicate friendly relations with Bangladesh. The people of Bangladesh do not expect such a statement from an Indian policymaker.
I appeal to Indian Home Minister Amit Shah to refrain from making such statements and draw the attention of the Bangladesh government to protest against these boastful remark of a minister from the neighbouring country.
