Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's central publicity secretary Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda has issued the following statement on 12th August, 2024 protesting the news published in the online version of Daily Amader Shomoy titled 'Discussions of Jamaat with Chief Adviser', as it stated some incorrect information.

"On August 12, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer led a 11 member delegation hold a meeting with the Chief Advisor of the interim government. After the meeting, Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman briefed the journalists about the meeting. The news of Daily Amader Shomoy quoted the Jamaat Ameer and stated that 'Important people of India are spreading false propaganda against our leaders'. But Jamaat Ameer did not say any such thing in the briefing. Moreover, some other irrelevant issues have been brought in forth using his name.

We are protesting the aforementioned part of the news published in the above headline of Daily Amader Shomoy. At the same time, I am calling to publish this protest statement properly to minimize the confusion."
