Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar issued the following statement on 10th August, 2024 calling for the resignation of judges with political identities, working in the Appellate and High Court Divisions of the Supreme Court.

"The fascist Awami League government has destroyed the judiciary by appointing incompetent and politically biased people in the judiciary for the past 16 years. People have been deprived of their just rights of getting justice. At present, the courts of the country are not able to work independently.

It has become necessary to establish rule of law, justice, equality and human rights in the country. It is not possible to ensure the rule of law and social justice by such self-confessed politically biased judges of the Appellate and High Court Divisions of the Supreme Court. Therefore, I am calling for the immediate resignation of the judges of the Appellate and High Court Divisions of the Supreme Court in order to ensure justice and equality for the citizens of the country also to sucure the functionality of the courts so that it can work freely and independently."
