Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Acting Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 8th October 2023 protesting and condemning the barbaric air and land attacks of the Zionist Israeli forces which left over 250 Palestinians killed and thousands injured.

We don’t have any words to condemn the barbarous and devastating attacks of the Israeli forces against the innocent civilians of Palestine. The zionist Israel hijacked the land of Palestine in 1948 and since then, they have been continuing inhuman massacres and genocides against the Palestinians. For last 75 years, the Israeli authorities are committing terrorism and violence in Palestine. As the third largest Muslim country of the world, the government of Bangladesh was supposed to protest these brutal activities of Israel loudly and formally. But the government has failed to do so. On behalf of the people of Bangladesh, we are sincerely and wholeheartedly condemning the barbaric attacks of Israel.

Disregarding all international organisations including the United Nations, the Zionist Israel is continuously violating the international rules, norms, principles and human rights. Different democratic nations of the world and the UN have repeatedly failed to stop the unjust aggression of the Israeli authorities. It has become evident, this crisis of the region will not come to an end, unless a free and sovereign nation of Palestine is established.

So, we are urging OIC, United Nations and peace loving nations around the world and the Muslim countries to recognise Palestine as a free and sovereign state in order to secure peace in the Middle East.

Besides, I am praying to Allah to accept all of the Palestinians as martyrs who have been killed in Israeli attacks. I am also wishing quick recovery of the injured. We are extending our sincere sympathy to all victims, their families and the government of Palestine.
