Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Acting Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman has issued the following statement on 3rd October urging to ensure proper treatment for BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia according to the choice of her family.

BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia has been undergoing treatment in the hospital for a long time as she is suffering from various complicated diseases. Her family, party and the countrymen repeatedly demanded to take initiative for ensuring her treatment in abroad. But the government has deprived her from such basic privilege. Each of the citizens has the right to avail due treatment. Begum Zia has been made deprived from availing her basic rights due to hostility of the government. So far, what we came to know, Begum Khaleda Zia is in critical condition now. Under this circumstance, she needs advanced medical treatment. If any unwanted situation takes place with her because of the indifferent attitude and negligence of the government, the authority has to take all liabilities.

We are urging the government to take immediate effective steps to ensure due treatment for BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia as per the choice of her family.
