Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former lawmaker Professor Mia Golam Porwar has issued the following statement on 19 February 2021 protesting and condemning the initiatives of changing logo of Rajshahi city’s Masjid Mission Academy, a renowned academic institution of the town.

Masjid Mission Academy, an educational institute, located in the Borokuthi area of the Rajshahi city was known for years with a logo that contains a symbolic moon, star and a minaret along with a Quranic verse. The logo represented Islamic culture and tradition. But this logo has been changed on last 18 February unjustifiably. By changing this logo, they have taken their position against the Quranic verse and the spirit of Islam. Such decision is illogical and it clearly goes against Islamic spirit and values. We are condemning this unjust decision of the concerned authority.

We are urging the authorities concerned to be refrained from the process of implementing this unjust and immoral decision immediately.
