Matiur Rahman Akanda rejects false report of Daily Janakantha against Jamaat-e-Islami

Central Executive committee member of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and party’s central publicity Secretary Matiur Rahman Akanda has issued the following statement on 24 January 2021 protesting and gainsaying the false information of a report titled “বিএনপি-জামায়াতের প্রোপাগান্ডা স্কোয়াডের অপতৎপরতা” (The misdeeds of the Propaganda squad of BNP-Jamaat) published in the last page of Bengali daily Janakantha.

A report has been published in Daily Janakantha titled “বিএনপি-জামায়াতের প্রোপাগান্ডা স্কোয়াডের অপতৎপরতা” (The misdeeds of the Propaganda squad of BNP-Jamaat) on 24 January. The reports stated the so many false and wrong information about Jamaat-e-Islami. It added that almost 50 squads have been formed in exchange of crores of taka to launch propaganda against the incumbent government both in home and abroad in order to attain political interests. The report is totally false, concocted and politically motivated. Quoting a source of the intelligence agency, the report claimed that propaganda squads have been formed under the control of BNP and Jamaat wings, which are functioning in USA and UK. Even it said that fanatic activists are working from inside of the territory. All this information is nothing but a fiction of the concerned reporter. Jamaat has no connection with any such squad. Janakantha’s report is a continuation of its decade long propaganda and conspiracy against Jamaat-e-Islami.

We want to reaffirm that Jamaat does not believe in conspiracy and no question is emanated to form any such squad. With this report, the concerned people tried immensely to divert the public attention from government’s miserable failures including its corruption, looting and irregularities in vaccine procurement, collection and distribution process.

I am urging the authorities of Daily Janakantha to be refrained from publishing such false, fictitious and concocted report against Jamaat-e-Islami in future.
