Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former lawmaker Professor Mia Golam Porwar has issued the following statement on 15 October 2020 protesting and condemning the brutal murders of 4 persons of a same family in Kolaroa Upazila of the Satkhira district.

“At midnight of 14 October, some miscreants have brutally murdered parents and their two infants in the Khalshi village of the Kolaroa Upazila of the Satkhira district. We have no words to condemn such barbaric incident. We are vehemently condemning these murders.

Law and order situation have been deteriorated alarmingly in the country. Criminal offences like abduction, murder and rapes are taken place on regular basis. People are not safe in the roads and public places as well. A catastrophic situation is prevailing everywhere. The government has failed to provide security to the general masses and they cannot curb the increasing rate of the crimes.

I am urging the concerned authorities to arrest all the offenders who were involved with the brutal murders in Satkhira and also to take effective steps to ensure safety and security of public lives and properties.
