Meeting of the liaison committee of the 8 agitating parties held

Today, 28 November (Friday), at 4:15 PM, a meeting of the liaison committee of the 8 agitating parties was held at the central office of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami under the chairmanship of the committee’s coordinator, Dr. Hamidur Rahman Azad.

Among others, Islami Andolan Bangladesh’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Professor Ashraf Ali Akon; Khelafat Majlis Secretary General Dr. Ahmad Abdul Kader; Bangladesh Nezam-e-Islam Party Secretary General Mawlana Musa bin Izhar; Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA) Vice President and party spokesperson Engineer Rashed Pradhan; Bangladesh Khelafat Andolan Secretary General Maulana Yusuf Sadiq Haqqani; Bangladesh Development Party President Advocate Anwarul Haque Chan were present on the occasion.

At the meeting, it was announced that, with the aim of implementing the July National Charter (Constitutional Order), a decision has been made to conduct extensive nationwide campaigns to create public opinion in favor of a “Yes” vote.

The meeting emphasized the need to conduct the upcoming national parliamentary election in a free, fair, acceptable, and fear-free environment. At the same time, it strongly urged the government to ensure equal opportunity for all parties before the election and to accept the previously announced five-point public demands.

The meeting expressed satisfaction with the preparations undertaken to make the previously announced rallies of the eight agitating parties in the seven divisional cities of the country successful. A sincere call was made to people at all levels of the concerned divisions to ensure the complete success of the declared rallies through spontaneous participation. It was expressed with hope that these divisional rallies would see massive public gatherings.
