Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former MP Mia Golam Porwar said that if the upcoming election turns out like those of 2014, 2018 and 2024, the nation will face extreme misery. He urged the administration to remain neutral and also to ensure transparency in the upcoming election. Every candidate must be given equal opportunity to carry out election activities. Those OCs and SPs who worked in favour of a particular party in the past have all fled. They are now appearing before tribunals. The Chief Justice has fled. The Khatib of the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram has fled. The DIG has fled. The Police Commissioner has fled. Many OCs left their jobs and crossed the border into India. If similar allegations are brought against you, you too will not find a way to escape.”
Calling for an election free from the influence of black money, Mia Golam Porwar said: “Those who previously grabbed fish enclosures, demolished temples—people have vowed to reject them this time and vote for the Daripalla so that they can live in peace. After leaving behind the dark era of authoritarian government, today we are moving toward a new Bangladesh. We want to build a new Bangladesh. In 54 years we have seen many political symbols and parties—boat, plough, paddy sheaf. Under every rule there has been corruption, plunder, hunger, poverty; the people lacked food, clothing and shelter. It has been proven that peace cannot come to the country if it is governed by man-made laws. Therefore, let us build a state based on the Qur’an in the days ahead.”
He made these remarks as the chief guest while inaugurating the motorcycle rally at Khulna Zero Point on Saturday (15 November) at 9:15 a.m.
Under the leadership of Mia Golam Porwar, the candidate for Member of Parliament from Khulna-5 (Dumuria-Phultala), a massive motorcycle rally began from Khulna Zero Point and moved through Gutudia, Dumuria, Kharnia, Chuknagar, Atharomail, Rudaghara, Raghunathpur, Shahpur, Dhamalia, Jamira, Phultala and Damodar, concluding with a brief roadside gathering at the Shiromoni Shaheed Minar premises.
More than five thousand motorcycles joined the rally, with huge participation from the general public. The festive procession reverberated across the entire Dumuria and Phultala regions as well as throughout Khulna district with slogans in favour of the balance-scale symbol. Leaders and activists were filled with great enthusiasm. Villagers standing on both sides of the road hailed Mia Golam Porwar as an architect of development. Parwar waved the national flag in response to their greetings.
He said: “For good governance and peace, for change, and to build a modern and developed Khulna, we have organized today’s program to bring the message of change to people from all walks of life. In happiness and hardship, we have always stood for the welfare of the people, and we will continue to do so, rising above party lines, InshaAllah. For many long years I was not allowed to work normally. After the mass uprising of students and the general masses on 5 August, we are now able to work normally—Alhamdulillah.”
He added: “The people of Bangladesh want change. They have already seen all the political parties. Therefore, I believe they will vote for the Daripalla symbol to build a peaceful and livable Bangladesh.”

They have overturned the country’s 54 years of misrule. In continuation of this, the nation will bring change again in the upcoming election, InshaAllah.”
Referring to those who secured nominations by spending Tk 100 crore, he said: “They have dishonest motives. If they are elected, they will be corrupt.
Therefore, I urge everyone to elect honest and capable candidates to change the future of the nation.”
