His Excellency Mr. Nicolas Weeks, the honorable Ambassador of Sweden to Bangladesh, paid a courtesy call and a breakfast meeting with the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, at 9:00 am on Wednesday, October 1, at his office in Bashundhara, Dhaka.

At the outset, the Ambassador inquired about the health condition of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and wished him a complete recovery.

The meeting was held in a very cordial and friendly atmosphere. During the discussion, they exchanged views on the overall situation prevailing in Bangladesh, bilateral relations and investments between Bangladesh and Sweden, as well as matters of international relations and mutual interests. They expressed optimism that Sweden’s strong support for Bangladesh will continue in future and investments from Sweden in Bangladesh will further increase as well.

During the discussion, His Excellency the Ambassador was accompanied by Mr. Olle Lundin, Head of Trade, Political and Communication Affairs.

On behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, party’s Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar, Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair, Central Executive Committee member Mobarak Hossain, Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Jamaat Ameer Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan, Dhaka North City Medical Thana Ameer Dr. S.M. Khaliduzzaman, and Professor Rashedul Islam of North South University were present on the occasion.
