Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman has claimed the people have rejected the declared election schedule. The election commission has declared the schedule ignoring the view of the opposition parties which is a part of a major conspiracy. The election commission have taken measures to secure the victory of the ruling party by keeping the opposition out of the electoral process.

He said this while addressing a members’ conference organized by Jhinaidah district Jamaat-e-Islami. District Ameer Professor Ali Azam presided over the conference. Jamaat’s central executive committee member and Jessore-Kustia region’s coordinator Mobarak Hossain addressed the program as the special guest. Jhinaidah district Nayeb-e-Ameer Professor Matiur Rahman were also present on the occasion.

Acting Ameer said, the fascist government did not allow the people to cast their votes in 2014 and 2018 elections. They grabbed the office through a one-sided election. Local and foreign quarters have urged to resolve the ongoing political deadlock. But the government is not paying heed to their call. But the government will not be allowed to play any tricky game with democracy. One-sided election of the autocratic regime will be assisted with help of the people.

Mobarak Hossain said, there is no congenial atmosphere for a fair and credible election. Level-playing field is a must for such election which is still a far cry. To create a level-playing ground, Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, all opposition leaders and detainees must be freed. Participation of all parties in the election must be ensured. False and concocted cases to be withdrawn. The political parties should be allowed to hold meeting and rallies. Jamaat’s central offices and other offices must be allowed to operate properly.
