Following consecutive remands; Jamaat leaders sent to jail

The Jamaat leaders, who were arrested from an organizational meeting on last 6th September, were produced before the court on 15th September following two phases of remands. The lawyers placed bail plea for the Jamaat leaders.

Significant number of lawyers including Advocate Abdur Razzaq, Advocate Kamal Uddin. Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda, Advocate Yousuf Alim Advocate Moazzem Hossen Helal, Advocate Lutfor Rahman Azad, Advocate Abu Bakar and Advocate Helal Uddin took part in the bail hearing. The lawyers in their argument, highlighted different references of the high court instances and different sections of anti-terror act and pointed out the loopholes of the present case. While the prosecutors placed their argument opposing the bail plea. The court listened to the arguments of both sides and sent the Jamaat leaders into prison rejecting the bail plea.

Later, the 6 lawyers met 6 detained leaders separately. The leaders shocked to know the subject matters, stated in the case diaries. They claimed, “the case is totally politically motivated. We are doing Islamic movement for the satisfaction of Almighty Allah. This movement can never be subdued by issuing case and conducting repressions. The leaders also instructed their lawyers to go to the high court for seeking remedy.

The lawyers informed that the detained leaders are a bit tired physically but they are very strong mentally. They urged the fellow countrymen and party’s manpower to tackle the situation with patience.
