Secretary General visits only surviving girl of a victim familiy of the recent speedboat accident; provides assistances

A Banglabazar ferry ghat bound speedboat taking 30 passengers from Shimulia ghat of Munshiganjoverturned after hitting a sand-laden bulkhead anchored in Padma near Kathalbari ferry ghat in Madaripur's Shibcharupazila. 26 people were killed in this accident and several others became injured. Among the deceased, there were 4 members of a same family, hailed from Parokhali village of TerkhadaUpazila under Khula district.The only surviving member of the family is little girl Meem. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former lawmaker Professor Mia Golam Porwar has met the little girl on 9 May, 2021 and provided her some financial assistances.

Professor Mia Golam Porwar also addressed at a brief gathering over there. In his address, he said, I am praying for all the victims who had been killed in the tragic mishap of 3rd May. May Allah accept them as martyrs. The victim families can never fulfill the vacuum which has been created due to this tragic event. Only Allah can fulfill that vacuum with His eternal blessings.

Secretary General at that time, also collected information about the Meem, particularly how she is living now. He also offered prayer seeking salvation of the deceased and patience for their families.An emotional environment was created over there at that time.

Among others, central working committee member of Jamaat-e-Islami and Khulna city Ameer Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Khulna North organizational district Ameer Maulana Imran Hossain, Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Kobirul Islam, Secretary Munshi Mizanur Rahman, Assistant Secretary Professor Mia Golam Kuddus, IslamiChhatrashibir Khulna city President Mosharaf Hossain Ansari and Khulna North organizational president Abdullah Al Mamun were present on the occasion.
