Activists of ruling party’s student front Bangladesh Chhatra League indulged in infighting at Chattogram Government College this morning.
Witnesses said, at least three hand-made bombs were blasted at scene and groups chased at each other since 10:00am – spreading terror in the area.
Our local staff correspondent reports, tension persisted since this morning after formation of Chhatra League’s college committee last night.
Those deprived of posts in the committee took position near the college today and chased at those who obtained posts – triggering a chase and counter-chase.
Sub-Inspector Kamal Hossain, in-charge of the college’s police outpost, told The Daily Star the deprived group had lit fires on the road and barraged the gate.
The incident took place during Honours first-year examination under National University.Additional policemen have been deployed in the area to avert any untoward situation.
