Five killed in London’s Westminster terror attack; Secretary General expresses concern

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 23rd March, 2017 expressing deep concern at the massive terrorist attacks in the premise of Britain’s House of Parliament and over the Westminster Bridge on 22nd March that left 5 people killed and injured 40 others.

“Five people have died and at least 40 were injured after an attacker drove a car along a pavement in Westminster, stabbed a policeman and was shot dead by police in the grounds of Parliament. This is a terrible and brutal incident. Such a terrorist attack is a huge threat to the democracy, rule of law and human rights.

The miscreants who have made these attacks on British Parliament and Westminster Bridge are the enemy of the humanity. I hope that British government and the Britons will take resistive measures to stop the occurrence of such criminal attack in future. I further hope that British government and the people of United Kingdom will be able to overcome the losses of these heinous attacks shortly.

I am expressing my profound sympathy to the victim families and also to the people and the government of Britain and praying for the quick recovery of the injured peoples.”
