Hamidur Rahman Azad rejects the false news of Daily Kaler Kantha; Jamaat has no connection with any militant group, he asserts

Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former member of the Parliament Hamidur Rahman Azad has issued the following statement on 7th February, 2017 protesting and gainsaying the false and baseless report of the Bengali Daily ‘Kaler Kantha’ titled “বৈঠকটি ছিল জামায়াতের পাঁচ জেলার নারী সম্মেলন” (“That meeting was a gathering of the Jamaat’s female activists coming from 5 districts’) which they have published quoting the claimed reference of the police officials saying that the pious ladies who had been arrested on 2nd February from Mohammadpur of the capital had links with the militant and extremist groups.

“The Daily Kaler Kantha in his report claimed that the pious ladies who had been arrested on 2nd February from Mohammadpur of the capital had links with the militant and extremist groups. Such a claim is completely false.
The arrested pious and decent ladies are completely innocent. No question is emanated of providing them military training or hatching conspiracy for subversive activities. Police is making false propaganda against them just to connect them with some false and motivated cases.

The report of Daily Kaler Kantha with the reference of RAB’s media wing director Mufti Mahmud Khan further mentioned that Jamaat and Shibir remained always involved with anti-national activities which is also a false claim. Jamaat and Chhatrashibir are law bound organizations. These two organizations sincerely believe in the systematic and democratic trend of politics. So there is no way of having any links between these organizations and the militant organizations.

I am urging the authority of Daily Kaler Kantha not to publish such baseless and false report and expecting that they would publish this rejoinder properly to lessen the mass confusion.”
